Instructions for Transmitting Data
These instructions detail how to send over the
Internet to the State the EasyTrak database into which all of an agency’s data
has been merged.
- Close
EasyTrak
- Connect
to the Internet.
- Locate
the file “EasyUploadClient” (it may have a .exe extension). It should be
in the “C:\EasyTrak32\Data” directory – the same one that has the
“EasyImport” file.
- Double-click
on “EasyUploadClient.” The “EasyTrak 2000 Internet Upload Wizard”
should open.
- If
you have done this before, all of the information should already be entered
and you can go to step 9 (“Step 4” of the wizard).
- For
“Step 1,” in the “Remote Server IP Address” window enter 24.216.6.45
and in the “Server Port” window enter 8000
- For
“Step 2,” in the “User Name” window enter your agency’s ID and in
the “Password” window enter your agency’s password. (These are
obtained from Cheri in LaGrange and they are usually required to be entered
all in lowercase.)
- For
“Step 3,” in the “Select database to send” window enter
C:\EasyTrak32\Data\EasyTrak.GDB
- For
“Step 4,” click on the “Prepare database for transfer” button. This
compresses the database for faster transfer. When this is done the
“Connect to Internet Server” button will brighten and a small window
will appear saying “Data is ready to Send!” Click the “OK” button.
- For
“Step 5,” click on the “Connect to Internet Server” button. You
must be already connected to the Internet. Several messages will flash
by in the message window at the bottom of the wizard’s window. If your
login is successful, the final message will be “230 User (your ID) logged
in” and the “Send Secure Database” button will brighten.
- For
“Step 6,” click on the “Send Secure Database” button. The wizard
will show its progress and will advise you when it’s done. The time this
takes depends largely on the speed of your Internet connect, but it will
like take several minutes.
- Close
the wizard.
- Close
your Internet connection, if appropriate.
